Christopher Howard, BS, MS, CSCS, LMT, CMTPT, Pn-1

Hi, I'm Chris Howard!

I am the founder of massagemeetsfitness.com.

I created this site as a place for my clients to learn more about how to become healthier and happier versions of themselves. Fortunately for you, you don't have to be a client to find out more about what massage, nutrition, and exercise can help you accomplish in your life. And if you're interested, you can always click the "book an appointment" link throughout the site to schedule an appointment with me.

If you're interested in the specifics, I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree (BS) in Exercise Science and a Master's of Science (MS) Degree in Nutrition Science, both from the State University of New York (SUNY) University at Buffalo. Also, I graduated from the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Syracuse, NY in 2009 and have been a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) since 2010.

Since 2010, I have been employed at Cressey Sports Performance in Hudson, MA as a Strength and Conditioning Coach, where I work with athletes of all ages and a variety of sports.

I'm not your average massage therapist, and I don't perform your average massage therapy. Even before attending massage school, I had an interest in trigger points and have studied the work of Janet Travell and David Simons intently for almost a decade. As a result, the focus of my massage work is to help people alleviate their pain through a combination of Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization, Trigger Point Therapy, and Cupping.

Are you in pain? Do you feel stiff or tight? Do you know that you could feel better? Contact me below or schedule an appointment today!

What do the letters after your name mean?

You already know the BS, MS, and LMT if you read the paragraph above, but the rest are a bit more obscure.

CSCS - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). The CSCS is the gold-standard certification for anyone training clients to improve performance. I've held this distinction since 2009.

Pn-1 - Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified Professional. I achieved this certification in 2010 through Precision Nutrition. In addition, I was a client through both their Lean Eating Program (2011-2012) and their Scrawny to Brawny Program (2013-2014). Precision Nutrition has done an excellent job of teaching professionals the necessary knowledge required to understand how nutrition influences health and performance.

CMTPT - Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist. I achieved this certification in 2016 through Myopain Seminars.

What do you do for fun?

I must admit, I always consider learning about nutrition, exercise, and massage therapy to be fun, but it certainly isn't my whole life.

When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Jess and our dog, Riley. The three of us enjoy family "Movie Night" every Sunday.

I consider myself a life-long learner and always have an audiobook going while driving to and from work. If you've got good Audible recommendations, shoot me an email through the "contact me" form below!
